Direct Bonding – Oklahoma City, OK
Light Touch-Ups for Flawed Grins
When you think of problems with a smile’s looks, you may imagine very glaring issues – deeply-stained teeth, severe chips or cracks, etc. However, a grin’s faults can be pretty small and subtle at times. It’s for these latter sorts that Dental Expressions offers direct bonding at our Oklahoma City office. Through this treatment, Dr. Holman will give your teeth the light touch-up they need. What is Direct Bonding?
Direct bonding is a service that places tooth-colored resin on your teeth. By applying this material, treatment can hide your smile’s minor flaws – small stains, chips, cracks, etc. The overall result is a touched-up grin in which you can feel confident and proud!
Today, direct bonding can be done in just one or two dental visits. The procedure starts by cleaning your flawed teeth and removing their decayed or damaged parts. From there, Dr. Holman and his team apply (and sculpt) the tooth-colored resin onto your enamel. We then finish the work by polishing your teeth and making a few last-minute changes.
Who is a Good Candidate for Direct Bonding?
Most patients can qualify for direct bonding; treatment only requires a (relatively) healthy smile. That said, the bonding process works best on those with slightly-flawed teeth. It isn’t as effective at treating major faults in one’s grin – deep teeth stains, severe cracks, etc.
Given the points above, the best dental bonding candidates have one (or more) of the following:
- Slightly Chipped or Cracked Enamel
- Teeth with Light to Moderate Stains
- Slightly-Gapped Teeth
- Oddly-Shaped Teeth
- Teeth That Seem Short or “Stubby”
Even if you have the faults above, please consult Dr. Holman before you commit to anything. She’ll assess your smile to see if direct bonding is the right choice for you. From there, she can use her findings to draft a custom treatment plan.
The Benefits of Direct Bonding
While dental bonding is best for fixing small cosmetic flaws, it has many upsides. These include:
- Smooth Dental Care – Compared to other forms of cosmetic dentistry, dental bonding is faster and less invasive. Our team can often perform it in one smooth visit.
- Versatility – Dental bonding’s resin can cover the whole fronts of teeth, so treatment can fix tooth stains, chips, cracks, misalignments, and more.
- Easy Maintenance – Maintaining dental bonding results is a pretty easy thing to do. To ensure the effects last 3-10 years, brush twice daily, floss once daily, and rinse often.
- Cost-Effective Work – Even as dental bonding has a low price, it offers great and apparent results. The treatment is thus very cost-effective.
